CHANT OF GOD NAME

One should never let go of the divine Name. In this world, there must exist one supreme, ultimate reality — and that is what we refer to as ‘God’. God is so subtle and formless that the human mind cannot truly grasp Him. Human thoughts are bound by words; hence, to envision God from the standpoint of thought, words become our only medium. This is what saints refer to as the ‘Name’ (Naam). Wherever the Name resides in the heart — that is, where there is love, faith, devotion, and belief in God — there, God reveals Himself more clearly.

To believe in God is to negate belief in the individual ego. Just as two swords cannot fit in the same sheath, God and ego cannot coexist in the same heart. Saints have become one with God. Taking God’s Name humbles the ego and reduces the pride of doership. Once we develop love for the Name, our sense of personal doership fades. When we surrender our actions to God, personal desires dissolve. And where there is no desire, success and failure lose their significance. Recognizing that joy and sorrow, gain and loss, are the nature of worldly life, one who understands that every event unfolds under His will begins to truly grasp the existence of God.

True spiritual fulfillment comes when even the sense of ‘I’ ceases to exist, leaving only the truth of His presence. At that point, even saying “I know Him” is no longer possible — for the ‘I’ has vanished.To recognize a saint and to be blessed with such a meeting, one must consistently chant God’s Name. While doing so, one must never forsake virtuous conduct, never cross moral boundaries, never fall into despair, and never unnecessarily punish the body. But above all, under any circumstance, never abandon the chanting of God’s Name.

Since the outcome of duty is governed by destiny, whatever results come should be accepted with contentment. In fact, because everything happens under God’s will, even destiny operates under His command.To chant the Name is to surrender everything. Just like in worldly affairs, a person holding a stamped seal from a high authority can execute decisions on their behalf — similarly, the Name of God carries the same power as God Himself. The moment love for God takes hold, nothing else can stand in its way.

“ईश्वर के नाम का स्मरण,”

भगवान का नाम कभी नहीं छोड़ना चाहिए। इस संसार में यदि कोई वास्तविक, सच्चा अस्तित्व है तो वह केवल एक ही है — और वही ‘भगवान’ कहलाता है। भगवान अत्यंत सूक्ष्म होते हैं, इसलिए मनुष्य की बुद्धि वहाँ तक पहुँच नहीं सकती। इंसानी विचार शब्दों से बंधे होते हैं, इसलिए भगवान को समझने के लिए हमें शब्दों का ही सहारा लेना पड़ता है। संत इस शब्द को ‘नाम’ कहते हैं।जिस हृदय में नाम बसा होता है — जहाँ ईश्वर के प्रति प्रेम, श्रद्धा, आस्था और भावना होती है — वहाँ भगवान का विशेष रूप से प्रकट होना अनुभव किया जा सकता है। ईश्वर पर आस्था होना, इसका अर्थ है अपने व्यक्तिगत अहंकार का अभाव। जैसे एक म्यान में दो तलवारें नहीं रह सकतीं, वैसे ही भगवान और अहंकार एक साथ एक मन में नहीं टिक सकते। संतजन ईश्वर के साथ एकाकार हो चुके होते हैं।

भगवान का नाम जपना, अपने कर्तृत्व के अभिमान को त्यागना होता है। जब नाम से प्रेम हो जाता है, तब व्यक्ति का कर्ता भाव कम होता जाता है। जब सारे कार्य भगवान को समर्पित कर दिए जाते हैं, तो फिर अपनी कोई इच्छा नहीं बचती। जहाँ इच्छा नहीं रहती, वहाँ सफलता-असफलता का कोई महत्व नहीं रह जाता। जीवन में सुख-दुख, लाभ-हानि का आना-ज
