During my tenure with an MNC company, I had the opportunity to work under a terminal manager who made a lasting positive impact on my professional life. Although he came from a non-technical background, he possessed exceptional administrative skills that enabled him to manage the terminal operations efficiently. His leadership was particularly evident during a global safety audit—a highly critical and detailed process. Under his guidance, our terminal successfully passed the audit with no major observations or findings, which was a significant achievement.
What truly impressed me was his systematic approach to administration and his ability to maintain high standards without having technical expertise. He was organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in addressing potential issues well before they could escalate. His ability to coordinate teams, ensure compliance, and maintain smooth operations made a deep impression on me.
After he left the organization, I found myself constantly trying to emulate his style of administration. I started adopting his methods of documentation, communication, and team management. Over time, this influence helped me become more structured, responsible, and effective in handling administrative tasks, even beyond my technical role.
