CHANT OF GOD NAME

Will devotion to the Supreme Being happen while still attached to worldly desires?
It is wrong to say, “I am a devotee” without giving up desires. Where there are desires, there is no devotion; and where there is true devotion, desires cannot exist. A devotee is one who fully belongs to God. Without surrendering to Him, one cannot truly belong to Him.With ego in place, devotion is not possible. First, one must understand how to dissolve the ego and make a sincere effort to do so.

“Everything is done by Him; and He makes things happen through me as long as He wills.”With this attitude, attachment to worldly desires naturally begins to fade.
Without letting go of the idea that “I am the one acting,” one cannot walk the spiritual path.At first, let a person act with some expectation of the result. Gradually, the attachment to results diminishes. Then, ego begins to vanish, and the feeling “I am not the doer; He alone acts through me” arises.
At that point, every action becomes a silent offering to God.

When faced with hardship, we often make promises to God. But if our desires are not fulfilled, we quickly say “There’s no value in God.”Can we really deceive God?
He says, “This person never remembered Me during happy times, but now suddenly remembers Me?”
What have we done that God should favor us?We must not try to deceive Him, because it is not God who gets deceived — it is we who end up deceiving ourselves. We work tirelessly for our worldly needs — but do we dedicate even a single hour each day for God? Ask yourself that sincerely. As long as there is craving for sense-pleasures, one cannot become a true servant of the Lord.
