once met a householder who said to me, “I wish to see God. Have you seen Him?” I replied, “Yes, I have.” He asked, “Will I be able to see Him too?” I said, “You can, but not with these physical eyes. The vision required to perceive God is of a different kind.”
Today, our sight is focused on worldly matters, not on the Divine. If we truly wish to see God, there is only one way: to live in His Name. There is no other path. I sincerely urge everyone to listen to this carefully — not just to hear it, but to understand whether we are walking the right path or not. Mere listening is not enough; one must act upon it. Only what is brought into practice will truly matter.
Chanting the Divine Name is the most effortless, trouble-free, and independent way to attain well-being. It requires no external dependencies — it’s always within us. If someone chants the Name with purity of heart and behavior, God will certainly bless that person.
We must believe in what our Guru tells us as absolute truth. If a Guru tells us that a treasure lies a hundred steps down this path, then what good is it to walk two hundred steps in another direction? Many say they seek a vision of God in form, yet they fail to find satisfaction even after meeting a realized Guru. In such a case, what would be the use of seeing God Himself?
If you wish to enjoy a mango, you must first plant its seed. Likewise, our benefit lies only in following the path shown by the Guru. We should wholeheartedly surrender to Him. There is no greater good than the remembrance of the Divine Name.
When people use God’s Name just to recover from illness, it’s like using medicine from a bottle and discarding it when cured — forgetting the true purpose. Whenever we feel something isn’t happening the way we want, it means there is a deficiency in our practice.
When one has true faith in the Guru’s words, the ups and downs of life will no longer affect the mind. Just as a great officer can play childlike games with little ones while still remaining who he is, we too must live in the world unattached — participating in worldly matters outwardly, but keeping the presence of God alive within.
We should act in our daily lives with detachment and purity, with the same careful attention we give while playing a game we don’t want to lose. Live in the world, but don’t let the world live inside you. Inside, let there be space only for God.
The secret of the highest spiritual path lies in these: unwavering faith at the feet of the Guru, constant company of spiritual practice, and freedom from entanglement in worldly attachments.
This alone is the true way to liberation.
