CHANT OF GOD NAME

Name of God is to be in Awareness.

In a gathering of drunkards, everyone is intoxicated. But if someone among them hasn’t drunk, the rest call him “not in the mood.” In reality, he is the only one truly aware, while the rest are actually unaware. Similarly, since we are all engrossed in worldly pleasures, when someone is absorbed in the Name (God’s Name), we say, “He’s not in touch with reality.” But in truth, the one who has firm faith that “there is no truth apart from the Name” is the only one truly aware—while we are lost in illusion.

To eliminate this illusion, there are three means: righteous thoughts, holy company, and remembrance of the Name. Thinking of God is true righteous thinking. If someone is told to come without their body and color, it’s impossible, because wherever that person is, their body and color are present. Likewise, the Name, the Saints, and the Lord are inseparable—where there is the Name, there is holy company and the presence of the Divine.

Just as when a calf is taken away, the mother cow follows naturally, similarly, when one takes the Name, the Lord follows. Someone might wonder, with so many machines invented nowadays, didn’t the saints devise a tool to attain God? The answer is simple: they already did. That tool is “God Naam”—the Name of you wish God name. It is available to all, usable by all, and never rusts.

The devotee, the Divine, and the Name are one and the same. Where there is the Name, there is the devotee, and there is the Divine too. Therefore, the Name is supreme. Let us hold onto the Name with complete devotion. Water flowing through drains and gutters may be filthy, but when it merges with a river, and the river with the ocean, the ocean makes it all one with itself. Similarly, no matter how sinful, faulty, or criminal a person may be—once they take refuge in the river of the Name, they are transformed into the ocean of Ram.

Forgetting God is the greatest sin. By taking the Name, we remember Him—and with remembrance, sin disappears. The word “orphan” exists only in the absence of a guardian—and a guardian cannot be called such unless there’s someone to protect. God is the guardian of all. Let us remain immersed in His remembrance. The worldly life is like an exile, but in the remembrance of God name, its sufferings and troubles feel as light as a straw.

If you keep chanting the Name, you won’t need to go searching for saints—they will come seeking you.
