CHANT OF GOD NAME

Let us reflect—what’s easier: spending a lifetime trying to perform good deeds one by one in the hope of developing love for the Divine Name, or simply taking the Name repeatedly, even forcefully if needed, just because saints and sages have insisted on it with deep concern and love?

Imagine a complex machine filled with many gears. If someone tries to move just one gear manually, there’s no guarantee the machine will start. But if that person presses the single master switch that controls the whole system, the machine comes alive effortlessly. Likewise, the Divine Name is like that master key—once you hold on to it, all the gears of righteous actions begin to move automatically and efficiently.

So, if you want guaranteed and smooth spiritual progress, hold firmly to the Divine Name—however you can. Once you resolve to chant the Name, absolutely nothing can come in the way. Even in worldly life, we see that if someone makes up their mind to do something, they manage it—even if it’s tough or unsupported. So why wouldn’t that be possible when it comes to the Name? No matter what path you choose, ultimately there is no other refuge but the Divine Name.

The best thing is to chant the Name without overthinking or doubting, in any way you can—because then, you won’t later regret wasting your time aimlessly.

The world is full of tempting distractions. Even seeing or hearing about them can stir desire, making us want to chase after them. That’s why our prayer to God should be: “O Lord, don’t even let me see alluring things—my heart will run toward them, and I’ll be trapped. Let me instead see only what is truly beneficial, let me hear only what leads me closer to You, let me remember only what uplifts me, and let my heart grow fond only of that.”

We must nurture the kind of deep faith  and aspire toward the detachment  embodied. While making this effort, yes—we will stumble and make mistakes. But whenever that happens, we must genuinely repent and say, “O Lord, I have fallen, I am full of faults—please forgive me and make me worthy of Your grace.”

Let your lips chant the Name, let your hands do the work of daily life, and let your heart rest in contentment.

The more one takes the Divine Name, the less the mind wanders toward the outside world.
